Board of Finance
How quickly two years go by! That’s how long I’ve served Marlborough as a Board of Finance Alternate. I am unaffiliated running for a full seat on the BOF supported by the Marlborough Democratic Town Committee. Over these past two years I have attended all but one BOF meeting. The welfare of our town and its residents is paramount to me.
I have lived here since 1975, taught for 35 years in our excellent school system, served on our library’s board for six years, volunteered at the Arts Center, and been at just about every town hearing and meeting over those 45 years. Never afraid to speak up, I feel that I am the person who will represent everyone in this town and will look out for what’s best for my friends and neighbors and all segments of the population. Questions need to be asked in order for informed decisions to be made. I don’t hesitate to ask those questions.
The Board of Finance has an awesome responsibility to protect the town’s interests while keeping in mind the ability of its taxpayers to be able to live in the town without undue burden. Taxes are on everyone’s mind, and finding the balance of what the town needs and what it can afford is a delicate one. I want to be a part of that conversation and decision making. I truly feel that I can represent each and every one of you fairly and honestly. That is why I am asking for your vote on November 5.
Please take the time to come out and vote. This is your town, and your vote carries a lot of weight. I would be grateful to you if you would lend me your support. I promise to not let you down.
