To the Editor:

My name is Jack Fidler, and I am running for reelection to the Marlborough Board of Finance. As a full member of the BOF in 2023, I was a part of the board that set the town's $27 million budget. This resulted in a 0.83 mill decrease for taxpayers in town. This took teamwork and collaboration within the board and with the many elected officials and departments in town. My experience the past two years is vital going forward. With tough economic times and decisions approaching Marlborough and other towns in the area, we need members on the Board of Finance that are familiar with the budget process and town's plans. If reelected, I will bring this experience to the board.

There are things that need to be done in town to keep it livable for all residents, from young families to seniors. We have paving and construction projecys that are ongoing, a beautiful lake that needs to be supported and taken care of, responsible economic and resendential development to increase our tax base wihout over stretching our town services, and strong schools that foster the next generation. If reelected I vow to work towards maintaining and growing these essential services to town while keeping taxes low for residents. Every tax dollar needs to count. I hope that I have earned your vote for reelection on election day, and I look forward to the opportunity to continue to servce the great people of Marlborough.

I would also like to take this time to endorse the entire Marlborough Democratic slate. Our candidates have a wide variety of ages, professional backgrounds and life experiences. We have a dedicated and hardworking slate that are representative of Marlborough as a whole. We are ready to get to work for you!

Sincerely,

Jack Fidler - Marlborough

To the Editor:

As I've been campaigning for the full seat on the Board of Finance, there have been two things I've been grateful for. The first thing I'm grateful for is the outstanding people I've met. I can't express that enough. I am so appreciative of your input and willingness to share with me what your concerns and expectations are for our town's budget and spending. Some of you shared specifics such as naming roads, school projects, or the boar launch, library, or sidewalks. Some of you spoke in terms of the school budget(s) and the town or capital budget(s). Both are valuable and important.

I shared that when it comes to sitting at the BOF table, I have to ask myself, "What is ut that's best for the whole community and not just the desire of a few (including myself)?" "Is this for the good of Marlborough's future?"

Realistically I will not "hit" every taxpayer and voter in Marlborough so I invite my fellow taxpayers in Marlborough to share your budgetary concerns/ideas at karenpakulis@yahoo.com as I am still listening.

The second thing that I'm grateful for during campaigning is the opportunity to learn about the backgrounds and reasons why each of the incredibly qualified candidates I am running with, are also running. It takes a qualified, community-minded TEAM to put a dedicated, fair and cost-effective budget together and maintain all other financial oversight. I'm excited to be part of such a team who will bring that result to your. On Nov. 7, vore for Fidler, Guzman, Pakulis-Paul and Wilkinson. We won't disappoint.

To the Editor:

I was born and raised in Marlborough. However I have not spent my entire life in Marlborough. after graduating college with an undergraduate degree in Fiance from Quinnipiac University and getting my MBA from Syracuse, I went off to live in Dallas, Texas, and Cleveland, Ohio where I was fortunate to meet my wonderful wife. Together, we moved back to Connecticut and eventually settled back in Marlborough in 2018 where we are now raising our two young kids. I have always been proud of Marlborough and will describe it as a "one stoplight town". I am proud of our history and proud to be from this town.

I am now running for a seat on our town's Board of Finance - the same Board my father sat on years ago. I am running for a variety of reasons but mainly because I want to provide my children the same experience I was provided growing up in this wonderful town. I am deeply invested in our community's well-being. I want to honor our past while still looking forward to our future. I believe these two ideas are not mutually exclusive. My wife and I chose to invest our family's future and buy a home in Marlborough because we believe the future is bright in this town. I want to ensure that for my children and yours.

The Board of Finance plays a crucial role in shaping the finacial future of our community. It is tasked with managing our town's finances, making budgetary decisions, and ensuring fiscal responsibility. I humbly ask for your vote for the Board of Finance. Together, we can ensure a financially stable and properous community for all. Thank you for your consideration and support.
