I was born and raised in Marlborough. My wife and I have been married for seven years and together, we are raising 2 kids along with our furchild. I am currently a Financial Controller for a growing transportation company and attained my undergraduate degree in Finance from Quinnipiac University and my MBA from Syracuse University. With over 15 years of dedicated experience in the field of finance, I have cultivated a comprehensive understanding of financial management and strategic planning.

My diverse roles have spanned both corporate and advisory settings, providing me with a well-rounded perspective on financial decision making. I have consistently demonstrated an ability to drive efficiency, optimized resources, and make informed decisions that align with over-arching organization goals.

The Board of Finance plays a crucial role in shaping the financial future of our community. It is tasked with managing our town's finances, making budgetary decisions, and ensuring fiscal responsibility. As a candidate for the Board of Finance, I am committed to ensuring fiscal responsibility in our town. This means carefully examining every budget item, eliminating wasteful spending, and seeking out cost-saving opportunities. I will work to strike a balance between essential services and maintaining a reasonable tax burden for our residents.

I humbly ask for your vote for the Board of Finance. As a lifelong resident of Marlborough, I am deeply invested in our community's well-being, and I am eager to contribute my expertise to the Board of Finance to help make well-informed financial decisions that will benefit us all.

I am confident that I can make a positive impact on our town's financial future. Together, we can ensure a financially stable and prosperous community for all. Thank you for your consideration and support.

My name is Jack Fidler and I am thrilled to running for re-election to the Marlborough Board of Finance. I have been both an alternate and a full member of the Marlborough BOF since 2021, and cherish my opportunity to help create the budget that makes Marlborough the best town it can be.

My professional background in in helping people. I have a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut and currently work as a territory sales manager for an adaptive equipment company. In my job, I help individuals with mobility needs get the devices they need to optimize their quality of life. This professional experience translates to work on the BOF; we need to create a budget that provides residents the services they need, while keeping taxes low, to optimize their quality of life in Marlborough. We need to balance affordability with the ability to provide key services to make Marlborough work for all residents, from young families to seniors. I am committed to using every dollar to benefit our residents. This will ensure a vibrant future for Marlborough.

My wife and I moved to Marlborough in 2019 because we knew it was a town that we saw our future in. We loved the same town feel, the lake and green spaces and the schools. Now, we are raining our first child here and we think it is the perfect town for our family. I have a vested interest in our beautiful town, and I look forward to the opportunity to earn your vote on Election Day. Come and meet me and the other candidates endorsed by the Marlborough Democratic Town Committee at our Meet & Greet event 10/21/2023 from 4-7 at Chateau Le Gari Winery.

Thank you,

Jack Fidler

I am running for the RHAM Board of Education. Education has been central to my career and personal life since childhood. My family included many teachers which led me to my first career as a college professor upon earning a PhD in mathematics. When I left academia, my love of learning supported my actuarial pursuits which required additional years of study.

My success as an actuary would not have been possible without the outstanding education I received; it gave me the foundation to pursue a rewarding career and reinforced my belief that our public schools are critical to achieving happy, confident, and successful citizens.

While teaching mathematics at the college level, I saw that there was more that we should do as educators to prepare our young people to have the right skills to be successful in their chosen fields. Now that I am retired and my three children are grown, I can give back to the community and work to improve our students' readiness by serving on the RHAM school board.

My experiences make it clear that middle school and high school are the critical times when children are making important decisions regarding their life after graduation, preparing to enter the workforce, join the military, or to pursue a college education. They must have the skills, ability, and confidence to make informed decisions about their path to ensure that they thrive in this dynamic and ever more challenging world.

My experience as a professor and actuary provides an academic and financial perspective that is well aligned with RHAM's vision for preparing students for college and career readiness, and for responsible stewardship of community resources.

Come ask questions of our candidates at the Democratic Party Slate Meet & Greet at Chateau Le Gari Winery, October 21, 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Sincerely,

Drew Golfin - Marlborough Candidate for RHAM Board of Education
